wp9434f576.png Dear Delegate,

I am delighted to welcome you to the Society’s Annual Conference at St Andrews.  I am confident that the programme and the surroundings will not disappoint you.

The theme of the conference is once again “Modern World – Modern Workforce” and we will be considering many of the challenging issues impacting on our work in local government and the wider public sector.

We have a variety of influential speakers who will challenge and stimulate our strategic thinking and give us different insights and experiences that will help us in our drive to deliver first class public services.

I would like to extend my appreciation and thanks to my colleagues in the Society who have worked so  hard in organising this year’s conference and to bring together a programme to meet your high expectations.  My thanks go also to all our contributors and, in particular, to our sponsors whose support is so vital to the success of our conference.  In addition, I would like to thank Euro RSCG Riley for their help with the conference arrangements.

The popularity of our conference continues, as in recent years.  This reflects the currency and relevance of the topics covered in our programme and the expertise of our presenters.  As well as working hard in our formal sessions, with the support of our sponsors we also have a superb programme of social and networking opportunities.

I hope you will find the conference both stimulating and enjoyable and that you will find some time to relax in the magnificent surroundings of the Old Course Hotel.  I look forward to seeing regular delegates once again at St Andrews and would extend a particularly warm welcome to first time delegates.  I look forward to meeting you all.
